Sophia College 19th June 2009

The lecture session we held at Sophia College was very interactive and inspiring. Inspiring, in the sense that you could feel the pulse of the youth in the passion with which they spoke, on all the topics discussed. On talking about the problems in India, the issue that came up as a widespread problem was of discrimination- religious discrimination, caste discrimination, regional discrimination and colour discrimination. The students had a view that, we talk about racial discrimination in foreign countries, whereas we ourselves show apathy towards the discrimination in India, which seems to be a hub for all sorts of discriminations. 

We will be gaining volunteers and following up with students from Sophia College on tackling the issue of discrimination in our country. Follow up is going to be carried out on the issue of global warming, and we are working on an event in their annual festival, ‘Kaleidoscope’ on social awareness.
